On Tuesday the 24th February 2015, I attended the very first live Event Planner Talk. I was invited by the creator of The Mice Blog, Irina Trofimovskaya.
#EventPlannersTalk is a Twitter chat run by event planners for event planners. The event was between 630pm-930pm and it was held in the stunning Kingsway Hall Hotel, near Holborn station. The event format was ‘networking-expert’s panel-networking’.
The panel, formed by 3 different experts, focused on how to:
- incentivise and engage with your target audience
- promote events on social media
- how to use the hashtag efficiently
- how to create valuable content
- B2B social media space
The 3 panellists were: Richard Waddington- Chair and Investor of Micebook, Dana Rowe- Chief Marketing Office at TweetWall Pro and Caleb Parker- CEO of meetingrooms.com.
The event was sponsored by sli.do, Evolero, TweetWall Pro and Meetingrooms.com
The event was informative and interactive. It ran smoothly with excellent questions, mainly asked anonymously, from the participants using sli.do
Some of the top questions included: “Do you think there is a way to incentivise people to engage more with the event through social media before, during and after?’
‘How do you gather data from a Twitter hashtag?’
‘How do you define or measure success using social media to promote events?’
There was also time for a super quick Twitter competition and @blogbykobrak won a box of delicious macaroons.
I truly enjoyed this informal event with education and networking at its core.
