IMEX America..now I know what all the fuss was about.
So, let me start by saying that it was my first time at IMEX America, my first time in Las Vegas and my first time in the USA!
I admit, it was a lot to take in, but I loved it.
I particularly loved the connections I made. I got to meet in person many guests of Events Uncovered TV. I also got to interview some great experts and to party with some fun peeps.
Each day I did something a little different.
On the first day, I was sponsored by VenueMe: the online tool that allows event organisers to instantly reach the perfect venue and alerts the Venue of who is looking in real time.
The cameraman, Henry Dean and I went around the show floor and managed to film some very good interviews.
On Wednesday, I went ‘old school’ and armed myself with pen and paper. I asked some more personal, ‘get-to-know-you’ questions.
In the evening, I first did a bunch of super cool interviews for Events Manager Blog and The Event Technology of the Year Award (ETY15). I got the pleasure to work with Will and Endless Entertainment. –Little note: Congratulations CrowdMics for winning)
At around 945pm I got to the venue for the IMEX Rendezvous presented by The MPI Foundation, Host Sponsors Caesars Entertainment and IMEX.
OH MY! Wasn’t that amazing!? Great view, stunning people, amazing buzz. Truly enjoyed!
On Thursday, I simply walked around for a couple of hours, saying goodbyes to old and new friends.
Throughout the event I got to ‘give out’ my very personal business card, that caused, as usual, great laughs and positive comments.
What did I learn? That not only I love learning new things and meeting new people, but that there are amazing people who accepts and welcome you with open arms.
Was it worth it? Yes, it was.
Although similar, IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America are very different. Might be the jetlag (that I didn’t get), might be the food, might be the people, but they are definitely 2 different experiences.
A big hug to everyone who said hi, kissed me, hugged me, let me interview them, took pictures, danced, laughed, gave advice, introduced me to others and had general chats and catch ups.
Until next time…
